A native of Wisconsin, David Bohn received degrees in composition from the University of Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and the University of Illinois. His primary composition teachers were Joel Naumann, Yehuda Yannay, and William Brooks. He has taught theory at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Illinois, and was for many years organist at the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign. He is currently residing in West Allis, Wisconsin, is an Associate Lecturer in the Music Department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and is the organist at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Waukesha. He is active in the Organ Historical Society, and is currently the president of the Wisconsin Alliance for Composers.
